A coating is structured in multiple layers. A hard, non-hydrophobic layer, and a softer, super hydrophobic layer that surfaces. over-time that softer more hydrophobic layer will ware off and leave behind the less hydrophobic layer exposed. In most cases, a simple coating maintenance service can bring back or rebuild that layer without the cost of re-coating your vehicle!
